Caring for our Communities

Community care is more than just a one-time project; rather it is a lifestyle. This means that in our homes, neighborhoods, schools, work places, and in every other area of our lives, we are to participate in restoring creation to a fulfilling relationship with God (2 Corinthians 5:18-20).  The primary way we serve our communities is by each of our members engaging the lives around them with purpose and intentionality as God has called them. Second, the Church as a whole has been called to seek the good of the community (Jeremiah 29:5-8). We seek the welfare of our cities and towns by focusing our collective efforts to help meet the practical needs of the community by such things as Student Mentoring or through our Community Gardens or the Firewood project, or supporting local Food Shelves.  Each of these ministries and events are designed to strengthen our towns and communities, pointing to Christ as our hope.
