Serving at Community Alliance
Our Heart
One of the primary ways of connecting into the life of Community Alliance is to serve. Our desire is to help believers discover how God has uniquely shaped and wired them with gifts, talents and passions and equip them to magnify God by serving in their church, community and world. Our hope is that we would cultivate the same attitude described in Philippians 2:3, doing "nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility counting others more significant than ourselves." As you feel led to call Community Alliance your church home, service will inevitably become a part of your life's worship. We pray that, in serving here, God would mature and strengthen our gifts and create in us a servant's heart that would bleed into all areas of our life. Permit God to guide you to the ministry in which He has created and designed you to serve. Don't be afraid to step out and try something new. He will always enable you to do what He calls you to do. The following are some questions to ask yourself to determine if you are experiencing the life God has for you in serving His church: * Am I willing to answer the call to ministry, even in the smallest of ways? * Am I using my time and talents to accomplish the ministry God has for me? * Am I living a life of gratitude by joyfully donating a portion of my time and talent back to God?
About Serving Your Community
Our Heart
Community care is more than just a one- time project or experience; rather it is a lifestyle. This means that in our homes, neighborhoods, schools, work places and in every other area of our lives, we are to carry ourselves as “ministers of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:18-20). The goal is to participate in restoring creation to a fulfilling relationship with God. The primary way we serve our communities is through each of our members engaging all areas of their lives with purpose and intentionality as God has called them. Second, the Church as a whole has been called to seek the good of the community (Jeremiah 29:5-8). We seek the welfare of our cities and towns by focusing our collective efforts on helping to meet the practical needs of the community. Whether it be focusing on helping teens as a Student Mentor or our Community Gardens or Firewood project, focusing on helping to provide food and warmth for those in need; each of our ministries and events are designed to strengthen our towns and communities, pointing to Christ as our hope.
About Serving Your World
Our Heart
Missions is a lifestyle for us. This means that in all aspects of life, we carry ourselves as ministers of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18-20; 1 Peter 2:4-9). Missions is something we attempt to live out every day. So, whether it is engaging our neighbors or co-workers, or going to serve those who live in the uttermost parts of the world, those experiences are tools to help us learn Missional Living (Link to Core Values Page) alongside of other members of the church. While we believe "missions" is a lifestyle, we recognize that we are called to engage and serve all the peoples of the world.
He has given us a love for the nations and for His Name. We understand full well that God is glorified in our love and unity (Ephesians 4:1-6; John 13:34-35) and that it is Jesus who we want to be famous (Philippians 2:9-11). So, because our goal is not to glorify Community Alliance, we are always anxious and eager to partner and support what is already at work all around the world.
