Caring for our Community

Community care is more than just a one-time project or experience; rather it is a lifestyle. This means that in our homes, neighborhoods, schools, work places and in every other area of our lives, we are to carry ourselves as “ministers of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:18-20). The goal is to participate in restoring creation to a fulfilling relationship with God. The primary way we serve our communities is through each of our members engaging all areas of their lives with purpose and intentionality as God has called them. Second, the Church as a whole has been called to seek the good of the community (Jeremiah 29:5-8). We seek the welfare of our cities and towns by focusing our collective efforts on helping to meet the practical needs of the community.  Whether it be focusing on helping teens as a Student Mentor or our Community Gardens or Firewood project, focusing on helping to provide food and warmth for those in need; each of our ministries and events are designed to strengthen our towns and communities, pointing to Christ as our hope.
